GETTING IN AND GETTING OUT
The hardest parts of a stadium night usually aren't inside the show. They're the security line on the way in and the crowd on the way out. Plan for both and the rest of the night takes care of itself.
- Pick your gate before you arrive. Look at the stadium map and choose the entrance closest to your section and your parking or transit stop.
- Have your ticket open before the scanner. Screen brightness up, ticket already on screen. Fumbling at the scanner is what slows lines down.
- Empty your pockets into your bag early. Keys, phone and lip balm in the clear bag make the metal detector quick.
- Decide on a meet-up spot. Groups get separated at exits. Name a landmark outside the gate before the encore.
- Walk a few blocks for rideshare. Pickup zones right outside the stadium surge in price and wait time.
WHAT SURPRISES FIRST-TIME STADIUM FANS
If your past concerts were in arenas or theaters, a football stadium feels different. Knowing a few things ahead of time keeps the night fun instead of stressful.
- The walking. Between the lot, the gate, the concourse ramps and your row, you can easily cover a couple of miles. Comfortable shoes beat cute shoes you'll take off by the second hour.
- The sound delay. In upper sections, you may notice the video screens and the audio don't line up perfectly. That's normal at this size and it doesn't mean anything is wrong.
- The cell signal. Tens of thousands of phones share the same towers. Texts can lag and videos may not upload until you leave, so download your ticket before you get there.
- The stairs. Upper-deck rows are steep. Take your time, use the handrails, and skip the tall heels if you're sitting high.
- The scale of the screens. Even from far away you'll see faces clearly on the big video boards, so a cheaper seat can still feel close.
None of this should scare you off. It just helps to walk in knowing what a sold-out stadium feels like, so you can relax and enjoy the music.
